ABOUT THIS PRODUCT The Bed Roller Sheet product is used to help slide someone up and down the bed. It can also be used to turn someone, and help them sit up, and stand up. The material is sewn into a cylinder, so that it can slide on itself. There are webbing handles sewn all the way down each side. You can remove it after using it, or leave it in place under the person, under the bed sheet or incontinence pad. WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT? This product may help carers who need to move someone in bed who cannot move themselves. This may be due to various disabilities. HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT This is a slippery product. Ensure the slipperiness is not a hazard when you use it. Sliding patients Up The Bed: The Bed Roller Sheet should be laid along the length of the bed. Standing next to the patient’s head, hold the webbing adjacent to the patient’s head and waist. Place a pillow against the Bed Head to protect the patient’s head from sliding into the head board. Both carers do a backward lunge, without twisting/ Turning patients Side To Side, Or Back To Side, Or Side To Back: To reassure the patient always raise the bed rail or have a Second carer stand next to the patient opposite the carer doing the turn. When making the bed, place the Bed Roller Sheet across the bed with it overhanging evenly on both sides of the bed. Position it so it is under the hips and depending on the shape of the patient. Sometimes it should be positioned more under the shoulders or more under the hips. This would be under a Draw Sheet or Bed Pad in normal use. PRODUCT MATERIALS Nylon, Webbing.
