ABOUT THIS PRODUCT These Bed Side Wedges – Heat Sealed are suitable for patients who need a reminder not to roll out of bed. The soft waterproof material can be wiped clean with disinfectant for infection control. This option may be preferable for hospitals or nursing homes due to the fact it has no sewn seams. The non-slip base helps stop the Wedges moving on the surface of the mattress. They may be an alternative to restraining for people suffering a proprioceptive condition. Thermoregulating Overlays (Sold Separately) If a patient is not wearing pajamas, the Heat Sealed vinyl material may not be comfortable to sleep on. The Overlays provide a breathable layer of polycotton material between the patient and the middle section of the Bed Side Wedges. There is a layer of Thermoregulating material sewn inside for people who may not be able to control their body temperature. This may help some people with hyperhidrosis, menopause, or a proprioceptive condition, including sensory processing disorder, autism, or ADHD. There are three straps and a layer of non-slip Miracle Grip underneath that help keep the Overlays in place. WHO SHOULD USE THIS PRODUCT? HOW TO USE THIS PRODUCT One set of Wedges is fastened near the top of the mattress, positioned to protect the patient from rolling off the edge, with the second set fastened lower down the bed to help prevent the patient’s legs and feet from moving off the edge of the mattress. The Wedges are in ‘sleeves’ and they can be easily removed when getting the patient out of bed.
