Lyretail killifish Aphyosemion Australe Gold Female 3-4CM The Lyretail Killifish comes in two main color types: the ‘gold’ version bred in aquariums and the ‘chocolate’ version found in the wild. This fish is peaceful and works best when kept as one male and one female in a small softwater tank with plenty of bogwood and plants. Using peat for filtration is a great idea. You can also add other small, peaceful fish that have similar needs, like pencilfish, Corydoras, Kuhli loaches, and Croaking or Sparkling Gouramis. The water in the tank should flow gently to imitate their natural slow-moving habitats. They enjoy having floating plants for cover, and it’s important to have tight lids on the tank since these fish can jump quite well. Aphyosemion australe is not seasonal and is a great choice for beginners interested in keeping killifish. It may also be sold as the Cape Lopez Lyretail or Lyretail Panchax.
